Summer Time

Hello Natural Health Family. I imagine you are enjoying the summer time. When we think of summer we think of sunshine, fun in the sun, vacations, parties, festivals, etc. We may also think of the warm activities, jobs, and sports that are typically performed throughout this time. The summer is a great time for new adventures, but it is also important that we take care of ourselves.  What are some ways to take care of our bodies during the summer months? We will most likely encounter all the tasty good foods and drinks that go along with the times. These can be good occasionally and especially with good company. However, we want to also help ourselves by eating the good foods and staying hydrated well especially during the hotter weeks. It is helpful to eat good whole foods that are not processed so that our bodies are able to function more effectively. Staying hydrated is also important.  Good clean water is optimal. There are many recommendations and guidelines out the...

Sea Salt and Dehydration

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-                 Another great weekend! Do you remember back in January or February how cold it was, and we were wanting all that hot weather to come back? Well, it’s here-ha. I know that I sweat through three shirts on Saturday. I’m really trying to watch my hydration levels, getting a lot of good quality water and using sea salt and our Cal-Amo product. It’s so easy to get dehydrated and being dehydrated causes lots of problems. Sometimes we don’t really feel thirsty when were are really busy outside but we need to actually stop and drink water, like on purpose. If you’re feeling weak and tired or if you’re having leg cramps or muscle spasms, these are early signs of being dehydrated and the need of salt. Another indicator is the color of your urine, in that it’s meant to look lemonade color but if it’s really dark yellow, you’re getting dehydrated.  ...

Why Butter and Coconut Oil Are Good for You

STORY AT-A-GLANCE Data show that higher levels of dairy fat biomarkers are associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular events and all-cause mortality. The link appears to be odd-chain saturated fats, like pentadecanoic acid (C15:0) People with higher levels of C15:0 had a lower incidence of heart disease risk in a linear dose-dependent manner. Data compared C15:0 against omega-3 and found broader health benefits Coconut oil is another healthy saturated fat that helps control Crohn's disease, support thyroid function and promote heart health; in places where coconut oil is routinely consumed, the populations have little vascular disease Conversely, vegetable oils, which are recommended by the American Heart Association, lead to a severe imbalance in omega-3 and omega-6, and increase your risk of several chronic and lethal diseases, including cancer and mitochondrial dysfunction leading to cell death A cyclical ketogenic diet improves your body's ability to burn fat and prod...

Joy In The Journey

Welcome back Natural Health Family. How was everyone’s weekend? Did you get to spend it with family or friends? I imagine you were able to have a little fun. Many people have different ideas or opinions of fun or play. Typically people think of it when they are on vacation, it’s the weekend, or a specific activity. Nonetheless, who says you can't enjoy where you are or what you are doing most of the time. Have you ever tried a new activity and was an expert the first time? Most likely that was not the case. You may even have thoughts about how bad you are at the activity or what others may think of your skill level. Or when you mess up you get hard on yourself for not doing it that well. We all may do this from time to time. However, do you remember being a kid and learning new things? Have you seen a kid start learning to walk and thought to yourself how come he or she doesn’t know how to walk yet? Of course not. Yet, even though the kid is falling down, stumbling, and trippin...

Staying Hydrated

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-                 What a beautiful weekend and we got more rain. I’m amazed how much things have greened back up after the dry spell we had. The grass is growing again and the corn and bean crops around the area are doing very well, the way it looks. Looks like this coming week will be a little hot and dry so make sure and stay hydrated and don’t forget the electrolyte part of hydration, meaning using sea salt or mineral salt and if necessary, we have the calcium salt pill called Cal-amo, that we use a lot of this time of year. Hydration is such a simple thing and is often forgotten and people end up with symptoms and then they get treatments. Let’s avoid all that by staying hydrated.                 This month were talking about Summer Fun in our health shops, and this week the topic is Su...

How Pfizer Profited From the Pandemic

STORY AT-A-GLANCE The COVID-19 pandemic has been a real boon to Pfizer. Not only has it doubled Pfizer’s annual revenue, it has also given the drugmaker unique weight in determining U.S. health policy — something that concerns even staunch vaccine-pushers like Dr. Paul Offit Pfizer’s revenue in 2021 was $81.3 billion — approximately double that of 2020 — and the COVID shot accounted for $36.78 billion of that Pfizer’s COVID jab dominates 70% of the U.S. and European markets, and Paxlovid, its COVID drug, has become a standard treatment choice in hospitals. This despite findings showing the shot doesn’t prevent infection or transmission, and that Paxlovid causes severe rebound and supercharges mutations The U.S. had thrown away 82.2 million expired COVID jab doses as of mid-May 2022, yet the Biden administration ordered another 105 million doses at the end of June 2022 for a fall booster campaign that will cost taxpayers $3.2 billion Pfizer’s contracts are almost exclusively slant...

Time To Listen

Hello Natural Health Family. I imagine you are all doing well today. This past weekend was a time for celebrating with family. Many of the family being much older and some being much younger. Nevertheless, many of the discussions were about what others went through back then and how they see the times now. Our viewpoints can help us understand how we all see the world and our ability to listen can be a key factor.  When talking to the older generation you get to hear about what all they got to experience. Whether it was the vast changes in technology like the black and white tv to color tv, the introduction to new phones, or the events such as war you start to understand the lens through which the older generation views things. Many times when interacting with others we may forget the differences of how others view the world. We may jump to a conclusion before hearing possible insights of what others had to experience. Although there are key characteristics that the older ...

Breathing

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-                 Another beautiful weekend that I hope you were able to enjoy. We had a big family reunion that was held off for two years because of the covid stuff. It was great to see everyone and catch up on the stories of our relatives over the years and such a beautiful weather weekend. I hope that you were able to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and notice how everything has greened back up now since we’ve had all the rain. It almost looks like spring again, especially with the crops growing so well now.                 Don’t forget about our health shops that we do live on Monday night at 6:15 on Instagram and Facebook and then we will post it to YouTube and Brighteon.com afterwards. This month were talking about Summer Fun and this week were talking about Breathing and why people som...

How Mushrooms Help Protect Your Brain

STORY AT-A-GLANCE Eating more than two portions of mushrooms a week reduced the risk of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in study subjects by 50%. Data show people with MCI over age 60 have lower levels of ergothioneine, an antioxidant found in mushrooms Mushrooms contain ergothioneine and glutathione, also known as the "master antioxidant." These may help protect against age-related diseases like cancer, heart disease and dementia; countries with the highest levels of ergothioneine in the diet have the lowest risk of neurodegenerative diseases and vice versa Robert Beelman, professor of food science at Penn State, believes the mushroom’s mycelium releases ergothioneine into the soil and holds the key to the link from healthy soil to healthy crops and human health; this link is severely disrupted using traditional farming techniques and can be reestablished with regenerative farming practices Mushrooms also contain beta-glucans, which play a beneficial role in immune health ...
