Perspective

Hello Natural Health Family. I imagine everyone was able to have some fun over the weekend or get some jobs done that might have been put off for a while. This past weekend I was able to make it to a high school class reunion. I got to of course see many people I haven’t seen in a long while and catch up with others. It was good to have a different perspective and see how some things changed and some things have not changed. Let’s talk about our perspective and why it can be important in our lives. If you watch TV, news, social media, how do you see it? Many of us watch certain channels or are on specific social media platforms because we are accustomed to them. I would estimate that many of the older generation watch news on certain tv channels while a majority of the younger generation get their news information from social media. Whatever way you stay in the know with all that is going on in the world it is important to see it through a lens which doesn’t impact our health so ...
Hello Natural Health Family. Over the weekend I was able to learn from an online workshop that helped me understand different perspectives of many people. It is fun realizing what you already know but in new ways, just like reading a book twice and getting something different out of it. Let’s dive into the topic of health and attempt to seek the solutions we have lost. When we look at the world today we tend to see all the problems including the health problems of the world. With all the available technology and resources we would think that our health would be greater. However, sadly this is not so. What our ancestors taught us at the beginning of the lives of our past relatives has fallen away to the wayside. For reasons that we may not know, we have forgotten or perhaps have been hidden from the path of knowledge needed for good health.  In today’s world we have been conditioned to think that what is common now, that of illness and health issues, is normal. Don’t be confu...

Will It Ever Be The Same?

Hello Natural Health family. I imagine everyone is doing well or getting better. The world seems to be going through some transitioning. However, if we think about the past it is always going through constant change. Therefore, when we are better able to adapt to the change we can live life on better terms. Today, let’s talk about how focusing on the good helps us keep climbing out of any hole we may have slipped into.  Today it appears that we are being constantly bombarded with news of negativity of all sorts. It tends to tell stories of what is all going wrong in the world. That it is getting more chaotic and that we need to take drastic measures to change that. We are being told one thing and then it quickly changes to the opposite. This leads to people being confused which can cause fear or panic. Our minds are conditioned to be more influenced by the negativity that we give attention to. The best survival stand point is to see the danger more and be prepared for the ...

No Worries

Welcome back Natural Health Family. I imagined everyone got to enjoy themselves by either having fun with others or working on projects for future activities. Many times when we get overwhelmed by what we have to do or everything that needs to get done we tend to become worried. Today let’s talk about how we can acknowledge worry and start to direct ourselves towards a better way of thinking.  I think we can all agree that everyone may worry a little every now and then. Worry is an indicator that we are thinking about something that might happen poorly in the future based on what we have been through in the past. Imagine if you will if or when you had to give a speech in front of the class during school. The days and moments leading up to it you may have stressed out thinking about the many ways it could go wrong or how others would think of you based on your delivery of the speech. Some may worry about what grade they will get or how many um’s or uh’s they will say or eve...

We Are Back!

Hello Everybody in Natural Health Nation -      Well I'm glad to see that everything is still green in the area. Karen and I visited my son in California and they are very dry out there and everything is brown. It was so great to come home to actual Green Grass and the trees looking so nice. It seems like there's either too much rain or too little but I'm glad that we're kind of right in the middle there somewhere. California is a very different area and I was surprised to see the number of people still wearing masks outside and  the number of homeless people roaming around. The roads were very busy and in the area that we were in and the migrant workers were doing a lot of harvesting and working hard at it. California is so diverse and the weather there changes from Valley to Valley. I'm glad to be home in simple old Quincy and enjoy a more Rural and slower-moving Society.       We're getting close to the end of July bu...

Rainy Weather and Sinuses

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation      Well, we're getting caught up in our moisture for the year. Even the gardens will have had enough moisture now to get  the produce grown and ripened. Even the melons will have enough water to grow and the  grass is back to green and growing. I'm sure we'll have some dry times here in late summer and fall but for now we're in good shape. I think it's much better to have too much rain rather than too little but we've had enough for sure. Hopefully your basement is dry and the mold that usually comes with this much moisture, is not bothering you. We have lots of products here at the office to help with sinus congestion, which basically means the liver is a little overloaded. We are here to help you not be drippy.      I'm including an article that looks at the suppression of a viral drug. I know that we cannot prescribe medication here at Natural Health but the point is that there are...

Our Mind Matters

We are back! I imagine everyone had some fun during the weekend or at least was able to get done what they wanted to get done. Today I wanted to share something that I have picked up and learned over the past couple years. Many times people go out of their way to persuade or influence others. This of course may be due to caring for others and wanting the best for them. However, we may be interfering with others' lives not knowing that we may not know what is best for them. This causes us to expend our energy without any progress in our efforts. Let’s talk about how minding one's own business may actually be a good thing.  What do you think about when you hear the phrase “mind your own business.” You may think about a past moment when someone told you this after asking about what is going on. Many people have a negative association of this phrase because it makes us feel we can’t socialize or express ourselves. People have a need or desire to connect with others and know wh...

Appreciation

Hello again Natural Health Family. Over the weekend I had the chance to talk to an older age group and see a different perspective on aspects of life. I listened to what they had gone through in their lives and how it allowed them to view the world through a different lens. Today I wanted to talk about appreciation and how looking at life differently can help us.  Life is quite an amazing journey. When we look back we can see all the trials and tribulations that have led us to where we are today. However, many times people get caught up looking at all the issues that happened in their lives. They see all the chaos in the world and think why all this wrong is happening. They start to criticize and blame situations in life and see themselves as a victim. People can fall into this habit of thinking because of all the information out there. Our minds tend to focus not on the good but on the bad. This is because the mind tries to focus on survival and how to avoid danger. This wa...

Something New

Natural Health Family! I hope everyone is having a good start to the week and had a great weekend. This past Sunday was father’s day so happy father’s day to all the fathers out there. Being that it was father’s day I wanted to talk a little about our forefathers, specifically, how they chose to explore unknown territory and how it led to the birth of a new nation.  Now with any exploration, they must have had to consider that they wouldn’t know how it was all going to happen. They may have thought about the possibility that they wouldn’t make a destination or what they feared came upon them. However, they instead kept their minds set on the possible future of what could be. They chose to hold true to the idea that whatever happens that they were going to stand firm and allow their sales to keep directing them onward.  Many times in life we may be overwhelmed with what all is happening and what we all need to do at the time. This can be overly taxing on our brains w...

Be A Student

Hello Natural Health Family. I imagine everyone enjoyed some of their weekend. Over the past weekend I got the opportunity to drive up to Omaha, Nebraska to help move out a relative. It was quite the weekend of moving different items in and out of houses. During the moving process I noticed how certain events caused people in general to become more frustrated than other times. However, when I changed my attitude from thinking about everything to just doing it, that is when everything kept flowing.  Many times in our lives we want to plan everything out to the smallest of detail. Of course planning to a degree is important for anything we want to accomplish in life. However, we must realize that things can come up in our lives that can throw us off course so to speak. During the weekend, we planned on having everything moved and be back by a certain time. We planned to get back and be able to do something else in Quincy. Guess what? Plans changed. We didn’t get back till mu...

Got Fatigue?

I hope that you enjoyed your weekend, I know that we did. I'm  trying to take the time to look at nature and see that everything is Greening up and see  how fast things can actually grow with the correct amount of rain and warmer temperatures. It seems like in previous years, this time of year seems to sneak by so quickly and then we're into the middle of summer and just miss it. It's a great time of year and we should all try to enjoy it. With all the trees and flowers and things growing quickly, there is lots of pollen out there and people are needing help with sinus issues. We have some very good strategies here at  Natural Health to handle these symptoms without more drugs confusing the issue. We are here to help you and yours.      This week’s topic for our health shop is chronic fatigue syndrome. This syndrome  is a good example of a diagnosis that is treated medically but there are many underlying reasons for it that are n...

Keep It Simple

Hello again! I hope everyone had some fun during the weekend. Last weekend I went to a seminar and learned more and more. It is always fun to learn new things but also to see what it is that I can let go. It seems that in this day and age that we are searching for so many things on what to do for whatever issue that we are trying to solve. However, when we take a step back we can see the best way to go about circumstances in our lives is to just keep it simple.  The human brain is an amazing organ capable of vast amounts of functions. It helps to control and coordinate the many processes needed to sustain our health. When we let it do its thing we tend not to interfere with its natural functioning. However, when we start to overthink and overanalyze we start to make a sort of mess. When our minds become messy our brains become messy which creates issues in our body.  Our brains are problem solving machines. Just like a computer which is able to perform many programs...

Aging: A different perspective

Welcome back Natural Health Family! I wanted to talk about a particular topic that I hear every now and then from others. The topic today will be centered upon aging and the way we view aging can help us have a better life. Life is short so this blog will be short and sweet. Let’s see how aging is not so much a curse, but can be seen as a blessing.  There are many people in their older age that do very well and others who may not do well. This can show us that it is not aging but it can be other variables. One important aspect could very well be how we view aging. One study showed that when people had a more positive outlook on aging that people lived on average 7.5 years longer. That is a very significant number and shows us the power of our outlook on different ideas.  When you think about getting older what goes through your mind? People can view aging many different ways. We may think about both aspects, the so-called bad and good. The bad may be that we can’t m...

Enjoying the Moment

Hello again! The weekend was great but time to start another week. Last weekend I went golfing. I do not golf much and definitely learned where I could improve. Nonetheless, I also noticed how easy it was to compare myself to others rather than just enjoying what I was doing. When I started to have fun and enjoy the scenery I was able to play better. Oftentimes overthinking can throw us off of what to do. Let’s talk about our ability to be where we are instead of thinking we need to be somewhere else.   Have you ever been somewhere, say a vacation spot or just doing a fun activity and thought that you should be doing something else? Many times when we are somewhere to have a good time or we may be doing something as little as going for a walk on a nice day we start having thoughts about what we are supposed to be doing or need to be doing even though we know that we can get to it later. There are times when we are bored or have nothing to do but feel we need to look at ...

What is Normal?

Welcome back Natural Health Family. I imagine everyone was able to have at least some fun during the weekend. It seems as though many people are starting to question many topics about what is going on nowadays. Much information out there is being spread that may lead many to be confused about what to do. It may cause us to overthink and overanalyze everything not being sure what is the truth. Today we are going to talk about a truth that has been forgotten over the years. This truth is simply this: Health is Our Natural State of Being .  Have you ever contemplated why it appears that there is so much illness and dis-ease in the world? Why we have been led to think that many of the health issues are from causes outside of our control. That we are predestined to have health issues due to our heritage or circumstances. In today’s world chronic illness is seen as common in much of the population. According to the CDC, 6/10 people have one chronic illness and 4/10 have two or m...

A Different Lens

Hello Natural Health Family. It appears that spring is here with fluctuations of warm and cold. As the season changes we start to see things differently such as the changing colors of the grass and trees. We start to notice different nuances that we might have not been able to notice before. Whether it is the anticipation of new activities that we can do or just more sunshine, our attitude changes. When our attitude changes about life in general than we have a different view of it. Today let’s examine the idea between life happening to you and life happening for you.  Some may think life is happening to them. This of course is not a wrong way of thinking. However, it may lead people to think that they can’t do anything about it and then complain when something doesn’t go the way that they want it to. This may lead to reasoning that they can’t get what they want and life is always going to be like this. People then tend to think that no matter what they do life will always ...

Breath

Hello Natural Health Family. Can you feel spring in the air yet? As we head into spring we start to notice the changes all around. The grass is greener, the trees are starting to fill up and birds are singing. Change happens all around us everyday of our lives. Let’s talk about one thing that changes but that we have control of, our breath.  Have you ever considered what is regulating your breathing? We often take for granted the intelligence of our own bodies. Imagine if you had to monitor your breath all day so that you could stay alive. That would be exhausting! So you see now that this intelligence that is regulating our breath helps us out tremendously. It is what keeps us alive and well. However, when we are influenced by various events in our lives like what is on the news, unexpected circumstances, and other things in life with business, relationships, etc. then our bodies respond by changing our breathing. This is to help us adapt to that certain stress in our liv...
