Criticism and Sympathy

Hi everyone! Today the discussion will focus on the two different emotions of criticism and sympathy. These are important especially in this day and age where many tend to always be analytical about certain topics.  Criticism may seem negative but only when used inappropriately. Many people tend to see criticism as something bad because it has been used as finding fault in others. Destructive criticism has been used much more than constructive criticism and as a result many are geared towards looking for the flaws in the world. The original definition of criticism was viewing and analyzing an object or thing not finding fault but rather finding excellence. We are conditioned to find fault because we have seen the ideal or perfect and find the imperfect. When we use this measure of seeing the bad or imperfections in others we will see that the same measure we have used will be used on us as well. This leads to feelings of lack, inferiority, and separateness. However, we must ...

Prejudice

Hello Natural Health Family. This post might be the start of a series of similar posts but we will see how this one goes. Today we are going to talk about the two emotions of prejudice and forgiveness. These emotions are the same but varying in degree. When we use these with reason we can allow ourselves to be free of being attached to a certain person or event that may be draining our energy leading to lack of health.  Prejudice may be defined as premature judgement, bias, often grounded on sentiment, ideas, or associations. Many times when people think of prejudice they think of the intense racism or violence happening in the world. However, prejudice can be similar to intolerance. When one of these is used constantly, then can we find that it starts to grow the more intense nature of resentment, anger and hate. Premature judgement means that when others express views or opinions that are not the same as somebody else they quickly without reason judge that person. This c...

Nutrition and Positive Thinking

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             What a beautiful weekend! It cooled off just enough to make it very enjoyable outside but still warm enough to not need coats and things like that. It’s great to have things green yet too but we could use some rain as the grass is getting a little brown and it’s very dusty. I hope that you were able to get out and enjoy it and maybe even talk to some friends. I think that people are starting to get over all this stuff, especially hiding in your house all the time-ha.             Tonight for our health shop we are doing a different event. We had planned to do a Dinner with the Docs event where patients come and have supper with us but since all this virus business, we decided to just post the 3 of us going over recipes and explaining how they work. As the kids are headed back to school, we’re getting lots of requests...

Hypernormalisation: A Documentary of a Fake World

Hypernormalisation: A Documentary of a Fake World Analysis by  Dr. Joseph Mercola STORY AT-A-GLANCE Documentary filmmaker and BBC journalist Adam Curtis has developed a cult following for his eccentric films that combine BBC archival footage into artistic montages combined with dark narratives; his latest film, Hypernormalisation, came out in 2016 Hypernormalisation tells the story of how politicians, financiers and “technological utopians” constructed a fake world over the last four decades in an attempt to maintain power and control Their fake world is simpler than the real world by design, and as a result people went along with it because the simplicity was reassuring The film takes viewers on a timeline of recent history that appears as though you’re seeing bits and pieces of a scrapbook, but which ultimately support the larger message that the world is being controlled by a powerful few while the rest of us are willing puppets in the play Documentary filmmaker and BBC jo...

Healing Your Body

Hello everybody. Today I wanted to talk more about you. Let’s talk about how you are much more powerful than you think you are. You may think otherwise but the more I talk the more you will realize that you are capable of great things.  Have you ever wondered how the greats in our past created lives that led to others being able to live their lives better? Think about all the great inventions that people spent much of their lives figuring out so that we could live more conveniently. Or the great athletes or artists that left us in awe about how someone could perform such a task or create such a beautiful masterpiece. Imagine if the Wright brothers stopped trying to make the first airplane because they were told it was impossible. We would never had planes that help people travel great distances to see amazing landscapes or to connect with friends or other loved ones. Many of the “greats” had an idea that they had a passion to carry out. Many of those ideas were ridiculed a...

What Does Health Mean To You?

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Another great weekend but it’s starting to get dry. The temperatures were nice but it looks like it’s going to get warmer this week. Don’t forget to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and getting some sea salt or mineral salt in the diet. It seems that every year when school starts it gets hot but it won’t last long. Fall is just around the corner and it’s a great time of year too.             Our theme for this month has been on brain health and in our health shop this week were talking about hydration and exercise. I love to talk about salt because people have been told for so long that salt is bad for them because of blood pressure issues, and while that may be somewhat true for processed salt, our bodies need good quality mineral salt or sea salt for the kidneys to work correctly, and many other functions...

What is Health?

Hello again to all the great people of the Natural Health family. Today I wanted to discuss briefly two ways that one could look at health. One way to see it could be that the world is filled with different things that can harm you and that you are a victim to this unforgiving world. Another way to see it is that you are a powerful beyond measure capable of defending yourself from any outside influence. Let’s dive into why these two views are not right or wrong but need context to be understood.  We know that there are different things in our environment such as bacteria and viruses that can be harmful to us IF we are not able to adapt to the “bug.” For instance a person (not allergic to bees)  gets stung by one bee can have some mild swelling and be able to recover from it fairly well. However, if that same person were to get swarmed and stung by many bees then it could have life threatening effects. This is because the person was overloaded and not able to adapt to ...

Brain Health and Back to School

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Another beautiful weekend and I hope you were able to enjoy it. Temperatures are getting a little cooler but still warm enough to enjoy the outside and especially if you’re around water. We did a lot of floating over the weekend and really enjoyed the refreshing cooler water. The sunshine is great and were building our stores of vitamin D. I hope you can do the same and, again, don’t forget to use coconut oil on those suntanned areas and stay hydrated with lots of good water and sea salt or mineral salt.             Our topic for this month is on Brain Health and getting back to school. The article that I’ve included is very relative to this in that everyone’s worried about the masks and social distancing stuff but no one’s looking at how to get actually healthy and not worry about all this virus stuff. What folks e...

Brain Activity

Hello Natural Health Family. Today I wanted to share more on how our thoughts can play a factor in our health. I think many people understand to a certain degree that our thinking can influence our health. Therefore, I wanted to further inform you on just how that works and why it is important to realize the power of our thought in regards to our health and well being.  What is an important difference between humans and animals in regards to brain activity? It is our ability to think. Animals tend to be focused on what is going on around them at the present time. Humans have the ability not to just think about what is happening now but to reason what will happen next based on past experiences. This was a unique ability that helped humans survive many events. However, this once great tool has now become a hindrance to our own health because we have lost our correct reasoning abilities. We tend to reason what will happen negatively rather than positively. You might say, well...

Brain Health

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Another great weekend! It was sure nice to have some cooler temperatures and a little rain in there. It’s keeping everything so green, even the yards and grasses. In many years, it’s dryer during July and the heat turns things brown but this year it sure is staying green and luscious. I hope that you were able to get outside and work on your vitamin D activation. Don’t forget about using coconut oil on suntan areas and eating salt to keep yourself hydrated.             Our topic for August is Brain Health and is important as the kids, hopefully, get back to school and for the adults to get back to work from vacations and such. I’m including an article that talks about correcting metabolism to help with immune system strengthening and this goes for all systems in the body, even brain health and proper function. Let’s face i...

Importance of Vitamin D and C

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Another great weekend, I hope you were able to enjoy it and get that good vitamin D activating sunshine. It’s definitely getting hot at times and the humidity was up so don’t forget to use more sea salt or mineral salt to keep yourself hydrated. Also using coconut oil on those suntanned or sunburned areas helps the skin to heal itself quickly and get that good tanning process going.             Hard to believe that June is almost gone but looking forward to the July 4 weekend and all the fun that goes with that. I’m talking to a lot of patients about eating as healthy as possible as all these holidays seem to get us into bad habits of eating too much junk food and sugar. There’s lots of good recipes for good foods and we are having some shown on our health shop this week. If you happen to miss it on Monday night, it ...

Quantum Physics

Hello Natural Health Family.  Today I wanted to talk about something that you might have heard of but is starting to make more of a presence in our world. The topic of this post will be about quantum physics and how it relates to our health and well being.      For us to talk about Quantum physics we must first talk about newtonian physics. Newtonian physics is what we have been taught most of our lives. It involves the objects that we can see in our lives such as cars, buildings, tables, chairs, etc.. Newtonian physics explains how many of these larger objects move in the space around us. (Force = Mass x Acceleration) is one principle of newtonian physics. The equation explains in order to move an object through space requires a force.      Quantum physics is more focused on the energy and space around the physical objects. It is based more on the smallest particles in this world which include things smaller than atoms such as elect...

Thoughts and Emotions

Hello Natural Health Family! I hope you had a nice weekend and enjoyed the sunshine. As the days go on we are still hearing and seeing news about the coronavirus. Today I wanted to talk about how the emotion of fear and not the coronavirus itself may be harming you.  In terms of health, we forget how powerful our thoughts and emotions can be. As a society we have been told to disregard our feelings and not to express how we feel. Many people find it awkward to express how they feel because it feels uncomfortable to most people. However, when we don’t express how we feel we tend to hold in that emotion in our bodies where it can sit for years. This can cause a lot of stress in our bodies. When we hold in any negative emotions, our bodies stay in a constant fight or flight response. Our fight or flight system is an aid to overcome any immediate threat in our lives. It was useful to help us survive a certain situation. However, as humans we tend to keep thinking of that past becau...
Hello Natural Health Family. Let’s talk today about what it means to be healthy. Not just the absence of symptoms and issues but the expression of life and vitality. Remember, health is natural for everyone. When you are experiencing pain or symptoms, that means you are unbalanced in some way. When we are unbalanced, we are more vulnerable to various health conditions such as having symptoms related to a virus. Lets change our way of thinking from attacking the bug to building the body strong.  First let’s talk about your body. Did you know (according to recent findings), that your body is made up of 6 trillion human cells (there is other research stating that we have 50 trillion cells), 60 trillion bacteria, and 380 trillion viruses? Yes you heard that right. Now why, when talking about illness do we always attack the bug? Let’s face it, our bodies are as much human as they are bacterial and virus… Let that sink in. Why don’t we respect our bodies, including the “bugs” that l...

Metabolic Health Shares How to Stay Healthy

A Legend in Metabolic Health Shares How to Stay Healthy Analysis by  Dr. Joseph Mercol a STORY AT-A-GLANCE February 2, 2020, Richard L. Veech, M.D., Ph.D., passed away at the age of 84 Veech was a leader and pioneer of our understanding of how ketones work biologically as he spent more than 50 years studying human metabolism at Harvard, Oxford and the NIH He discovered the ketone body beta-hydroxybutyrate has the unique ability to supercharge energy (ATP) production. Beta-hydroxybutyrate is generated in your liver when you fast or eat a ketogenic diet February 2, 2020, Richard L. Veech, M.D., Ph.D., passed away. He was 84. According to reports, he “died quietly in his sleep.” 1  Veech has earned a place in medical history as a leader and pioneer of the ketogenic diet, having spent more than 50 years studying human metabolism as a biochemist. I deeply regret not having interviewed him as he was a giant in the field. I was intimated by his pedigree and vast ...
