Struggle Can Be Healthy

Good day Natural Health Family! I imagine everyone had a good weekend and got outside to enjoy some sunshine and fresh air. Over the weekend I was able to go back to the college where I learned chiropractic and got to see things from a different perspective. One important aspect was how kids learn how to roll, crawl, walk and move around. Let’s talk about the power of our body and how it is able to adapt to the environment in many ways. When kids grow up they have to learn many different aspects of life. From an infant to a toddler to a kid to a young adult and then adulthood everyone experiences many challenges. Starting as infants, kids must learn how to navigate so they can explore and learn new things. The first skill they must go through is their ability to move. From crawling to running they must work their muscles to move through the environment. Oftentimes we feel we must help kids and aid them in many activities they perform. From infants to toddlers it could be crawling...

Responding vs Reacting

Good day Natural Health Family. Easter is now behind us and spring weather is rolling in. This season brings change and new beginnings. This means that we need to be ready and better adapt to the new happenings and circumstances in our lives now. When we are better aware of how we are reacting or responding to our environment than we can better understand how that can affect our own health and well being.  We have been told that we are victims of our health and have been conditioned to think that we always need something outside of us to make us healthy. Of course it is good to eat right, drink water, get fresh air and sunshine, and move our bodies to sustain good health. However, we forget the resilience of our own bodies when we have a balanced nervous system. Think of all the ads and media talking about the next great pill or medication to take so we can live healthy. Medications are great to prevent major illness or death, but they are not aiding the body in health. Wh...

End Of The Year

Hello Natural Health Family! It is getting that much closer to more holidays and the end of 2020. What a year full of ups, downs, ins and outs. As we enter 2021, it would be wise to evaluate our lives and see if there are things that we would like to consider about modifying. Everyone has room to grow and a great way is to look at ourselves.  If you wanted to change one thing about your life what would it be. Some people want to have better relationships. Some people want more income. Some want to be better at a certain skill. Others want to start a healthy habit such as eating good food, starting an exercise routine, and/or starting a mindful practice. These are all great things for everyone but it can be overwhelming to think about. However, the best way to change or start something is to focus on getting 1% better everyday rather than comparing ourselves to the end goal or where other people are at in their lives. It is simple to start something new but not as easy someti...

Shadows

Good day Natural Health Family! I imagine everyone is still hanging in there with everything happening. Today I wanted to give some motivation and to put some things into perspective so you know that you are not alone in all of this. Today’s blog is about striving forward and not giving up.  The world may appear to be a bit chaotic right now. There seems to be so much going on that we don’t know what is going to be the next step in this process. We see the world and we tend to notice all “wrong” that is happening. However, let me explain that this is natural for us to do. You see, as we have come from different generations over the past millennia, we have been conditioned to be in a survival mindset. This was important because we needed to protect ourselves from threat outside of us. So when things appear in our lives that seem out of sorts or not familiar, we may find the small details that are out of place. We continually do this all the time even without us realizing. T...
