Ominous B1 Deficiency Found Throughout Food Chain

STORY AT-A-GLANCE Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is used by nearly all your cells, metabolizing the carbohydrates and lipids in the foods you eat, helping to convert food into energy and boosting the flow of electrolytes in and out of your nerves and muscles Thiamine is important for healthy immune function, and may actually be crucial to protect against infectious respiratory illnesses such as COVID-19 While thiamine deficiency is often the result of alcohol misuse, chronic infections, poor nutrition and/or malabsorption, recent research suggests vitamin B1 has dramatically declined throughout the food chain in recent years The transfer of thiamine up the food chain may be blocked by a number of factors, including the overabundance of thiaminase, an enzyme that destroys thiamine. Thiaminase is naturally present in certain microorganisms, plants and fish that have adapted to use it to their advantage Thiamine deficiency has been identified in dozens of animal species and is now suspected ...

Get The Most Out of Your Vitamins & Minerals

Hey. Times traveling pretty fast, huh? Almost done with another month. So how would you be able to get the most out of your food? As you may know, I focus on emotional health. Some of you might think, “How does emotions have anything to do with food?” Well actually more than you THINK. We live in quite an up beat society and many of us barely have time to actually enjoy our food. For many of us, once we have a time to sit down and relax, our minds are going every other way. We try to distract the mind by looking at our phone or watching a movie, but I recommend trying another way to maximize your absorption. The mind has emotions like fear or worry conditioned within and will make you think about what is going to happen tomorrow when you are trying to enjoy your meal in the Now. It may even give you guilt about something you did today that wasn’t “perfect”. Or bring up something from the past that makes you angry. The reason why I bring these up is because all of these emotions c...

Importance of Fats

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Another great weekend, I hope you were able to enjoy it. I’m always amazed at how the world turns and the weather changes here in the Midwest. The days are starting to get a little shorter so enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures while we can. Don’t forget to eat good quality sea salt to help stay hydrated during the hot weather. Even being inside in air-conditioning dehydrates the body. Some of my patients have told me the MDs are telling them to get electrolytes, that’s what sea salt is simply stated. They have a hard time telling people to eat salt when they’ve been pooh-poohing it for decades. This is especially important if you have leg cramps or start feeling really tired after lots of exertion.             I’ve included a great article today that looks at the real science and truths of the need to eat satur...

Sunblock and Vitamin D

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             What a great weekend! I hope you were able to go outside and enjoy it to activate that vitamin D in the skin. Many people ask me about the use of suntan lotion and there is quite a bit to learn about that. We have found that just using coconut oil before going out in the sun and after coming back from being in the sun helps to keep the skin in good shape and prevents the burning. Everyone’s skin is a different tone and some people may need a type of sunblock but find one that is both a UvA and UvB block. Most are only UvA and people still get a burn. Also to realize that many of these lotions are full of chemicals and when you are warm, the pores of your skin are opened more, and they can become toxic. That’s why we like the coconut oil treatment as there’s no chemicals there. Of course use common sense in the time you are in the sun and as you build a tan, you can be out lo...

Coronavirus Statistics & Pre-exisitng Conditions

I hope that you had a great and Blessed Easter, and was able to get into the mood of the day. It sure was strange not being able to go to church, especially on Easter Sunday. Again we’re seeing signs that this will be over soon but we all need to look at our health status and keep this from happening again. Mainstream medicine is doing their thing right now and helping people to make it through their illness, which is great, but just treating people over and over with medications is not helping people get healthy and vibrant.             I’ve included an article today that reports 99% of the Italian fatality’s had pre-existing diabetes or heart disease. I think we will find that the statistics from other countries will show a similar trend. We all knew that people with lowered immunity would be the ones hardest hit. It’s time for us to get away from this main...

Vitamin B1 Is Vital to Protect Against Infectious Disease Analysis

Vitamin B1 Is Vital to Protect Against Infectious Disease Analysis by  Dr. Joseph Mercola STORY AT-A-GLANCE Thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency syndrome (beriberi) has many similarities to sepsis — a primary cause of COVID-19 mortality — and thiamine deficiency is relatively common in critically ill patients in general Thiamine deficiency is prevalent in pulmonary tuberculosis, and the more severe the case, the more severe the thiamine deficiency. Thiamine has been shown to limit Mycobacterium tuberculosis by regulating your innate immunity Thiamine deficiency is also associated with the development of high fever, and some researchers have suggested that serious infections may in fact be a presenting manifestation of thiamine deficiency Clinical case reports have shown thiamine injections reversed a number of acute illnesses in which high fever was a factor, including one case where the patient presented with high fever, headache and asphyxia, and another where the patient...
