Love Hate

Hello again! I hope everyone is staying warm and well. Since we just passed Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be fun to talk about the relationship between love and hate. I will attempt to give another perspective and explain why they can be more similar than we think.  Let's first start with hate. Hate may come after the accumulation of lesser forms such as irritation, aggravation, frustration, and anger. It also may come from a past experience like in childhood. A parent may unknowingly impress the mind of the child with hate. The parent from their past experience was taught that their ways of disciplining a child is how it is meant to be. Or the parent might have unintentionally, because of their own problems or frustrations at the time, let out hatred towards a child. Of course, there are times that children need to be directed. This direction should not be with hostility but with kindness and patience. You can see how hate, from past experience,  can be prevale...

Love Heals

Hey my Loves. Ever since we were kids, we have been using this emotion. Love for others. Love for our food. Love for ourselves. Love for life. I think it would be safe to say that everyone's strives to have a life that they can fully love. A life that they can relax, they can play, and they can feel abundant. As it relates to your health, love is the most powerful healer and can heal any type of illness that is in the body and mind. Many think that love is the red heart shaped box of chocolates with a teddy bear, but it goes much deeper than that.  I have had the privilege to understand the true power of love in my own health and life. The research available is remarkable and once it is applied to one’s life, it can positively transform any area of your life. Why? Have you ever looked at a kid playing? Have you seen how present he/she is in the moment? Just in complete awe with everything in front of them. What changed us being a kid to us all grown up? The development of t...

Past Times

Hello Natural Health Family. I wanted to keep this short and to the point. Happy Memorial Day to everyone!      In a time like this it is especially easy to think about what is going wrong and the chaos that is happening. We are all going through what seem like difficult times and it is different for anyone. Many things that seemed difficult in the past and we overcame were some of the best things that changed us to become who we are. When we really think about those past times and realize that we are better for it, those experiences can help us change our perspective on life. It can help us view the tough times and obstacles as challenges that help us grow to become better suited to our environment. It also helps us appreciate the times of peace and time with loved ones.      When thinking back to what our ancestors and relatives had to go through for us to be here, it gives us a better view and appreciation of life. Imagine all the differ...

Thoughts and Emotions

Hello Natural Health Family! I hope you had a nice weekend and enjoyed the sunshine. As the days go on we are still hearing and seeing news about the coronavirus. Today I wanted to talk about how the emotion of fear and not the coronavirus itself may be harming you.  In terms of health, we forget how powerful our thoughts and emotions can be. As a society we have been told to disregard our feelings and not to express how we feel. Many people find it awkward to express how they feel because it feels uncomfortable to most people. However, when we don’t express how we feel we tend to hold in that emotion in our bodies where it can sit for years. This can cause a lot of stress in our bodies. When we hold in any negative emotions, our bodies stay in a constant fight or flight response. Our fight or flight system is an aid to overcome any immediate threat in our lives. It was useful to help us survive a certain situation. However, as humans we tend to keep thinking of that past becau...

Heart Sound Recorder

Well we had some sunshine over the weekend. We have definitely had our fair share of gloomy days and snow and rain. We’re starting to see some signs of spring though as the birds are chirping and seeing some geese flying around. I hope that you’re still able to enjoy these days and know that they won’t last too much longer. I’m really starting to look forward to spring and even mowing grass again!             As were well into February and our theme is heart health, we are looking forward to Valentine’s Day. Our topic for this week is Love, which we will be discussing during our health shop at 6 o’clock tonight and it should be very interesting. The article I’ve enclosed is about how just being out in nature helps heart health and general health. It’s one of those free things that is definitely helpful to the body, just like sunshine. Sometimes it’s hard to p...
