Change Is In The Air

Hello Natural Health Family. It’s that time of the year again. The weather is cooling down and the colors are starting to change. We have been going through a lot of change in recent times and it doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon. Nonetheless, one thing that doesn’t change is the importance of our health and how that reflects how we can handle the changes of life. Let’s talk about a few different topics of what we can do for ourselves to adapt to the change.  When was the last time you walked outside just to walk outside? Not for exercise, not for moving your body, not for getting the blood pumping around your body, not for moving your joints to promote healthy oxygenation to all the cells of your body, not to clear your head of thoughts, not to get some fresh air, not to get some sunlight for healthy vitamin D synthesis, not to strengthen the muscles and ligaments of your body including your spine, but rather just to walk. You didn’t do it for something in particu...

Virus and Diet

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation -      Another beautiful weekend and it really seems dry. We did some digging on a drainage tile and the ground is wet  down a foot or so. The grass is drying out and at least we're not having to mow grass as much. There seems to be plenty of jobs to do outside as everyone knows the nice weather will not stay around forever. We're going through a lot of Cataplex ACP and Boswellia Complex at our office as these two supplements really help to heal the body from all of the extra work and toil that we're going through right now getting ready for  fall and winter. It's a great time of year as the humidity is down and the farmers are starting to harvest. Be on the watch for equipment that they use on the roads as it goes pretty slow, but at least most of it is big and easy to see. Fall is such a great time of year, it's just unfortunate we have to go through winter before getting back to Spring - ha.  ...

Is Sunscreen Safe?

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation -       Another beautiful weekend and we even got some rain. I was so glad because the grass was starting to get dry and it's a little early for that. We are now Into Summer and with that comes lots of warm weather and sunshine. Hopefully the rains will continue and keep everything green and growing. I hope that you all had a great weekend and were able to enjoy Father's Day. It's great to take a moment to remember and thank our fathers and just be able to enjoy the day. The article that I've been closed this week looks at sunscreens and how they can contain chemicals that are not good for a person. I'm lucky in that I can usually get by with just using coconut oil before and after sun exposure but some people have lighter skin and must be more careful. I still think it's a good idea for them to use coconut oil before and after to help heal the skin and help it to tan and stay moist. There just aren't that man...

Is Your Sunscreen Helping or Harming You?

STORY AT-A-GLANCE Testing 294 sunscreen products revealed 78 had dangerous levels of benzene, a known carcinogen; 14 of the products with the highest levels came from popular brands like Neutrogena, Sun Bum, CVS Health and Fruit of the Earth Data from FDA-funded research showed ingredients from sunscreen products build up in the body at unhealthy levels, yet the FDA has made no move to remove the sunscreen products and continues to urge Americans to use sunscreen as they wait for another study to demonstrate harm Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are two sunscreen ingredients that are known to be safe; however, the safety does not extend to the nanosized versions It's important to remember that you need a balanced approach to sensible sun exposure, while being careful to avoid getting burned. Consider internal protection like astaxanthin, wearing clothing or using sunscreen with safe ingredients Beauty is big business. Cosmetics and  personal care products  benefit from s...

Spring Allergies

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation -      What a great weekend! It sure is nice to have warmer weather back and we're starting to see those lawn mowers work. It's hard to beat the smell of fresh-cut grass on a sunny day. I hope you were able to get out in the sun and activate some vitamin D. We always recommend getting good sunshine and tanning as much as possible but not getting burnt. Use coconut oil on your skin to help keep it from drying and burning from the sun exposure but realize that  sunshine on your skin activates vitamin D and will help you get rid of cold symptoms left over from the winter, and many other benefits. Vitamin D is in all good fats and oils and your body can convert them into an active form with sunshine. That's why it's important to eat good oils and fats in the diet and have a healthy liver that can digest and absorb them. It's not only about what goes in your mouth but how the body utilizes the nutrition. We do a lot...

Breathing

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation -       I hope that you all had a great weekend, even though the weather wasn't fantastic. It is January so getting by with  not much snow or ice is a plus. It's still very important to keep your immune system working well and especially watching the vitamin D level. We make sure our patients eat plenty of good oils as the source for vitamin D, and then use a suntan bed once a week if possible to activate the vitamin D. We're seeing so much of this even in the mainstream media, on the need for Vitamin D to keep the immune system working correctly. This is for the Covid virus and all other infections as well. There are plenty of other ways to help the immune system, things like vitamin C, getting plenty of rest, keeping stress to a minimum, etc. At Natural Health, we help our patients to know what they need to be at Optimum Health and not have to worry about the environment and bugs.    ...

Christmas Time

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Did you get your Christmas shopping done over the weekend? It wasn’t a bad weekend weather-wise but it’s definitely colder than we like. It still isn’t too bad though as there is not tons of snow on the ground or ice. I really can’t believe that we only have one full week before Christmas week. Where does time go? Hopefully you will have some time off from work and be able to enjoy Christmas time with friends and family and just relax a bit. It’s a great time of year to look at your health status and see what needs improving. At Natural Health, we help to educate our patients to understand what it takes to be healthy and have energy and be able to enjoy life. There are lots of things to do nutritionally to control anxiety and depression, a common problem this time of year. We can help.             The article that I...

How Long Will We Ignore the Truth About Vitamin D?

Analysis by  Dr. Joseph Mercola STORY AT-A-GLANCE A scientific review published in 2006 concluded that epidemic seasonal influenza is most likely related to the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency during winter months. Since then, other studies have confirmed this theory A 2010 study found there’s an inverse relationship between UVB sun exposure — which is how your body synthesizes vitamin D naturally — and influenza deaths Vitamin D protects against tuberculosis, a fatal lung disease that kills an estimated 1.8 million people around the world each year According to recent research, 82.2% of COVID-19 patients tested were found to be deficient in vitamin D, and vitamin D status has been shown to influence your risk of testing positive for COVID-19, hospitalization rates and need for intensive care, as well as your risk of dying from the infection Vitamin D can reduce your risk of COVID-19 and other respiratory infections by reducing the survival and replication of viruses, red...
