Enjoying the Moment

Hello again! The weekend was great but time to start another week. Last weekend I went golfing. I do not golf much and definitely learned where I could improve. Nonetheless, I also noticed how easy it was to compare myself to others rather than just enjoying what I was doing. When I started to have fun and enjoy the scenery I was able to play better. Oftentimes overthinking can throw us off of what to do. Let’s talk about our ability to be where we are instead of thinking we need to be somewhere else.   Have you ever been somewhere, say a vacation spot or just doing a fun activity and thought that you should be doing something else? Many times when we are somewhere to have a good time or we may be doing something as little as going for a walk on a nice day we start having thoughts about what we are supposed to be doing or need to be doing even though we know that we can get to it later. There are times when we are bored or have nothing to do but feel we need to look at ...

Psychiatrist Blows the Whistle on Pandemic Fearmongering

Analysis by  Dr. Joseph Mercola STORY AT-A-GLANCE There’s an entire school of research within public health on how to frighten people, known as “fear appeal” Fear appeal is based on the premise that to successfully implement a public health measure, you must first highlight a threat. And, to work, the threat must be made personal, so that people fear for their personal safety Next, you give people something immediate to do that will set them on the path of cooperating with the plan in its entirety. Examples during the COVID-19 pandemic include not leaving your house, wearing a mask, staying 6 feet apart, closing certain businesses and keeping children home from school. In the future, we can expect to be told we must get vaccinated and digitally tracked before we can resume life as normal By adding confusion to the mix, you can bring an individual from fear to anxiety — a state of confusion in which you can no longer think logically. In this state, you are more easily manipul...

Seasonal Stress

Well we had a great weekend for December. We had some warmth and sunshine and not rain or snow. It’s great to get dried out a little. Looks like the leaves are mostly down now and we can get that final raking done. The increased number of Christmas lights on the houses are telling us that season is coming soon. Hopefully you’re not stressing out too much with the coming holidays.             That’s a great lead into the topic of this month here at Natural Health, which is handling Stress and Fatigue and getting good Sleep. The article that I’ve included this week is on as SAD, or seasonal effective disorder. This is basically about getting stressed and depressed during the winter months. There’s a lot of good nutritional support that we can help with and I like to have my patients go to the suntan bed once a week, to get sunshine type light which activates the vitamin D which hel...

The Need to Be Right

The Need to Be Right             I’m sure that you have talked with people and discovered their need to be right. Everyone wants others to emotionally feel close to them and that what they are doing, whatever it is, is the right way to do it or is best. Many people we have talked to, have been doing things a certain way for years, or decades, or even for generations. In their mind all that time makes it seem right. The question to ask though-is it? Many of these notions are based on outdated or uninformed ideas and may have even worked well for a while but the end result is not turning out as expected. It may also take some time, as in years or decades, to see the results of a wrong idea or a wrong action. You may have heard the expression about being “happy in your misery” or “being dead right”. These are expressions about people thinking they are doing the right thing but in reality, they’re not.     ...

Natural Health is a “Safe Haven” for Health Truth

Natural Health is a “Safe Haven” for Health Truth             What we mean by “safe haven” is that our patients and our patient’s families are welcome to ask us about any question related to health and we will find the true answer for them. Many folks are hesitant to talk about health issues with their usual MD because they know of the blowback they will get when discussing natural health issues. Mainstream medicine has its own philosophy on treating patients and much of their information comes from research done by drug companies and drug salesman that, of course, are biased and perhaps not in your best interest. We understand the need for these companies to make money but we don’t agree with the misinformation that causes patients harm to their health and possibly fatal consequences.             At Natural Health, we are interested in giving our patients truthful infor...

The Benefits of a Cyclical Ketogenic Diet

The Benefits of a Cyclical Ketogenic Diet The MMT diet is a cyclical  ketogenic diet , high in healthy fats and fiber, low in net carbs with a moderate amount of protein. Nutritional ketosis is the metabolic state associated with an increased production of ketones in your liver; i.e., the biological reflection of being able to burn fat, and is defined as having blood ketones in the range of 0.5 to 3.0 mmol/L. However, a key component that differentiates MMT from most other ketogenic eating plans is its emphasis on CYCLICAL ketosis. Once your body starts to burn fat for fuel, you need to switch to a cyclical ketogenic diet, as long-term continuous ketosis has some serious drawbacks that may actually undermine your health and longevity. The "metabolic magic" in the mitochondria actually occurs during the refeeding phase, not during the starvation phase. Alas, you cannot get to that magic unless you first go through the starvation phase. This is why we refer to the MMT p...

Boost Your Body

Boost Your Body      Getting regular exercise is a great way to improve and maintain joint and general health. We’ve all heard the old adage, “Use it or lose it.” It’s especially true when it comes to joint function. As we age, many of us suffer from a loss of joint mobility. Morning stiffness starts to show up. Or we need time to recover after getting up out of a chair or driving for a long distance. Knees, hips, shoulders and elbows are common culprits. Less obvious, but even more important, are the joints of the spine. As we start to feel the brunt of a lifetime of insults and injuries to the spine, chiropractic care becomes especially helpful. Besides helping to keep spinal joints functioning as optimally as possible, many seniors choose some type of regular chiropractic care for: Better balance   – Falling is often the beginning of the end for the elderly. Regular chiropractic care may help the elderly maintain better balance. Increased vi...

Does removing sugar from your diet starve cancer cells?

Does removing sugar from your diet starve cancer cells? New study finds surprising answers Sunday, July 22, 2018 by:  Ralph Flores ( Natural News ) Cutting back on sugar  may help decrease your likelihood of getting certain cancers , a recent study noted. The finding, which was part of an investigation made by researchers from  Duke-NUS Medical School  and the  National University of Singapore , together with the  Duke University School of Medicine  and the  Medical University of Vienna , is part of a unique approach explaining how reducing sugar can cause cancer cells to die. The paper, which was published in the online journal  Science Signaling,  presented a  novel cell death pathway  through introducing how depriving cancer cells of sugar can trigger a reaction that causes them to die. This research builds on earlier scientific literature that indicates that cancer cells that quickly multiply nee...
