Rainy Weather and Sinuses

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation      Well, we're getting caught up in our moisture for the year. Even the gardens will have had enough moisture now to get  the produce grown and ripened. Even the melons will have enough water to grow and the  grass is back to green and growing. I'm sure we'll have some dry times here in late summer and fall but for now we're in good shape. I think it's much better to have too much rain rather than too little but we've had enough for sure. Hopefully your basement is dry and the mold that usually comes with this much moisture, is not bothering you. We have lots of products here at the office to help with sinus congestion, which basically means the liver is a little overloaded. We are here to help you not be drippy.      I'm including an article that looks at the suppression of a viral drug. I know that we cannot prescribe medication here at Natural Health but the point is that there are...

Healthy Life

Hello Natural Health Family. I imagine everyone is doing well. Over the weekend I got to spend much of my time with family that I haven’t been able to see in a good while. We got to share some funny stories and talk about experiences of what the world was like back then. It appears the world is changing faster than it used to. So in these times we must be able to adapt to the stress of life. Let’s talk about some key factors for a healthy body and mind.  Never before have we had so many options on what to eat. Walking into a grocery store you can see the many different foods and it can seem overwhelming to anyone. However, when we think back to our ancestors and see how much better their health was compared to people now we can see that there is a disconnect on the average understanding of what to eat. Many foods in any market are processed and lack the vitamins and minerals that were once there. That is why eating good whole foods when we can helps our bodies to have the nu...

Having Fun

Hello Natural Health Family. I hope everyone had some fun this weekend whether you got out to the races, the picnics, or just spent some time relaxing with family. Today I wanted to talk about why recreation is important for our health and how it is important for our health and well being. Many people tend to stay busy. They are constantly working on something that could be related to work, the house, the yard, or other projects. It is of course good to have a strong work ethic. However, when we overtax our brain and bodies we can’t perform efficiently. Thus our productivity can go down. It might not be that we can’t do what we need to do at the time, but later not be able to do other work because we either feel physically or mentally drained. This can build up over time leading to other health issues. We all think that we will always have something to do or things will never get done. Whether this is true or not, which it may be, we can see that we might as well enjoy life whe...

Be A Student

Hello Natural Health Family. I imagine everyone enjoyed some of their weekend. Over the past weekend I got the opportunity to drive up to Omaha, Nebraska to help move out a relative. It was quite the weekend of moving different items in and out of houses. During the moving process I noticed how certain events caused people in general to become more frustrated than other times. However, when I changed my attitude from thinking about everything to just doing it, that is when everything kept flowing.  Many times in our lives we want to plan everything out to the smallest of detail. Of course planning to a degree is important for anything we want to accomplish in life. However, we must realize that things can come up in our lives that can throw us off course so to speak. During the weekend, we planned on having everything moved and be back by a certain time. We planned to get back and be able to do something else in Quincy. Guess what? Plans changed. We didn’t get back till mu...

Got Fatigue?

I hope that you enjoyed your weekend, I know that we did. I'm  trying to take the time to look at nature and see that everything is Greening up and see  how fast things can actually grow with the correct amount of rain and warmer temperatures. It seems like in previous years, this time of year seems to sneak by so quickly and then we're into the middle of summer and just miss it. It's a great time of year and we should all try to enjoy it. With all the trees and flowers and things growing quickly, there is lots of pollen out there and people are needing help with sinus issues. We have some very good strategies here at  Natural Health to handle these symptoms without more drugs confusing the issue. We are here to help you and yours.      This week’s topic for our health shop is chronic fatigue syndrome. This syndrome  is a good example of a diagnosis that is treated medically but there are many underlying reasons for it that are n...

Swimming with Masks?

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation -      I hope that you all had a great weekend. It's nice that we're having a Spring this year rather than just going into Summer. I was kind of worried there earlier as we had some very warm days but looking forward to a 2 inch snow this week - ha. We're getting lots of patients coming in with allergy issues and aches and pains from working in the yard. Don't forget about our Albizia Complex  product for those Spring allergy symptoms. This product works by helping the liver to drain lymphatic so is actually helpful as compared to over-the-counter allergy medications which are hard on the liver and kidneys. And don't forget about our two workhorse products -Cataplex ACP and Boswellia Complex which helps with the aches and pains of being overworked. We are  basically helping the body to heal up from the damage done from overwork, again in contrast to over-the-counter pain relievers that stop inflammation an...

Responding vs Reacting

Good day Natural Health Family. Easter is now behind us and spring weather is rolling in. This season brings change and new beginnings. This means that we need to be ready and better adapt to the new happenings and circumstances in our lives now. When we are better aware of how we are reacting or responding to our environment than we can better understand how that can affect our own health and well being.  We have been told that we are victims of our health and have been conditioned to think that we always need something outside of us to make us healthy. Of course it is good to eat right, drink water, get fresh air and sunshine, and move our bodies to sustain good health. However, we forget the resilience of our own bodies when we have a balanced nervous system. Think of all the ads and media talking about the next great pill or medication to take so we can live healthy. Medications are great to prevent major illness or death, but they are not aiding the body in health. Wh...

Patience

Hello Natural Health Family. Happy Day After Superbowl Day! We are off to another week and it is getting cold and snowy out there. With the cold and snow the roads are getting a little more slick. This is when it is important not to rush to where you are going and take your time. Another way to say it is being more patient. And that is what we will talk about today, Patience.  Patience can mean many things to many people. Sometimes we think of patience as simply waiting for something in our lives. However, patience can be used in many different areas of life. When we intend to achieve something in our lives we must exercise patience. Many great people before us who achieved great feats failed many times before. They didn’t know when, but knew that whatever they wanted to achieve was possible. Patience is also important when we talk about our relationship with others. Many people talk about patience being a virtue but then don’t practice it in their own lives. Patience is a p...

A Different Perspective

Hello Natural Health Family. Today we will discuss health and disease. However, not in a way that is commonly discussed. We tend to think in ways that have been previously taught to us in the past. Lets challenge those thoughts and see if they are actually true.  When you hear infectious or the word contagious what do you think? You might think of the common cold. You, if at a younger age, might think of cooties. You might think of the flu. You might think of a virus. Now, it is good to practice hygiene and know what to do in case of sickness. However, what if we thought about other things being contagious. When you see someone who is laughing or having a good time do you start to smile? When you hear someone talk nicely about someone else do you feel lighter or happier? When you get help from someone else whether it is performing a task or the other person just thought you might want some help with anything do you feel more apt to help the next person in need? When a stra...

Thanksgiving

Hello everyone! Let’s talk about this year’s thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is just that, giving thanks for all the blessings that are in our lives. We are living in different times and many are struggling to see the good in these times. Let’s go over a couple topics so we don’t lose sight of the why we celebrate Thanksgiving.   We might see with everything going on that we start to become frustrated about not being able to spend time with loved ones that we normally do at this time. However, we can take it with a different approach. How about instead of seeing all the restrictions or limitations to see others, we look for the good in what is happening. Perhaps it is time to focus on building our relationships with the people that we are with, the close ones that we are able to spend time with. This is a time when we can grow even closer to our family and friends. We tend to overthink about what we say to others but when we follow our hearts we are able to allow space for e...

Technology

Hello Natural Health Family. Today I wanted to talk about technology. Science has come a long way and we have been introduced to many things that help us in our daily lives. However, when speaking of technology we tend to forget the power of the human body. I will briefly discuss some great aspects of the human body as it relates to health and functioning.  Have you ever stopped and thought about all the different functions that your body performs every minute or even every second? I bet not. Your body performs many functions all the time including replicating millions of cells per second, defending you from bacteria and viruses, digesting your food, breathing without you thinking about it, pumping blood all around your body and so on. Isn’t it amazing that it does so much without us even having to think about it. Now to get even more precise. Your heart beats 2 gallons per minute through roughly 60,000 miles of blood vessels. Every cell in your body goes through the order...

Criticism and Sympathy

Hi everyone! Today the discussion will focus on the two different emotions of criticism and sympathy. These are important especially in this day and age where many tend to always be analytical about certain topics.  Criticism may seem negative but only when used inappropriately. Many people tend to see criticism as something bad because it has been used as finding fault in others. Destructive criticism has been used much more than constructive criticism and as a result many are geared towards looking for the flaws in the world. The original definition of criticism was viewing and analyzing an object or thing not finding fault but rather finding excellence. We are conditioned to find fault because we have seen the ideal or perfect and find the imperfect. When we use this measure of seeing the bad or imperfections in others we will see that the same measure we have used will be used on us as well. This leads to feelings of lack, inferiority, and separateness. However, we must ...

Prevention

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Another great weekend and we finally got some more rain. It’s definitely looking more and more like Fall and the tree leaves are coming down faster. Still a lot of green leaves so Fall is just getting started. It’s a great time of year as were getting rid of the high heat, just as long as we don’t get into the cold too fast. A lot of people are having problems with allergy symptoms due to all the Fall flower pollen and farmers in the field. We use a lot of our Albizia Complex product as it helps the liver to drain faster and remove the cause of these symptoms. Just let us know if we can help, that’s why were here at Natural Health.             I’ve included an article today talking about the lack of liability of the companies who are producing these vaccines that will be released soon. If you get a chance to watch t...

Patience

Hello to all of the Natural Health Family. Today we are going to talk about two other emotions, anger and patience. These emotions seem to be more prevalent especially in today’s world. Let’s discuss a little more about these two and why it’s important to understand them for your health and the health of others.  Anger may be described at a sudden displeasure that is felt from a real or assumed injury or insult and results in a wanting to punish. Now when we think of anger we think of an intense form, maybe one that ends in violence, physical abuse, verbal abuse, etc. However, anger usually does not happen all of a sudden but is built from the subtle feelings of irritation, frustration, and or displeasure. When we don’t recognize these subtle feelings then we are unaware how they could build up in ourselves. The emotion of anger is an energy which causes the body to alter many of the biological functions needed to be healthy. Anger causes a tightening of muscles, slows dow...

What Does Health Mean To You?

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Another great weekend but it’s starting to get dry. The temperatures were nice but it looks like it’s going to get warmer this week. Don’t forget to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and getting some sea salt or mineral salt in the diet. It seems that every year when school starts it gets hot but it won’t last long. Fall is just around the corner and it’s a great time of year too.             Our theme for this month has been on brain health and in our health shop this week were talking about hydration and exercise. I love to talk about salt because people have been told for so long that salt is bad for them because of blood pressure issues, and while that may be somewhat true for processed salt, our bodies need good quality mineral salt or sea salt for the kidneys to work correctly, and many other functions...

The Role of Metabolic Health in Better COVID-19 Outcomes

The Role of Metabolic Health in Better COVID-19 Outcomes Analysis by  Dr. Joseph Mercola STORY AT-A-GLANCE Your metabolic health has a significant impact on COVID-19 severity, and at least 9 in 10 Americans are metabolically unhealthy One of the classic changes associated with insulin resistance, obesity and metabolic syndrome is overactivation of the innate immune system, with decreasing activity in the adaptive immune system When it comes to healthy aging, it's not your biological age that matters but, rather, your immune and metabolic age, both of which are malleable and can be improved through simple lifestyle changes Research shows that when blood sugar is well-controlled and there's less glycemic variability, people do better when contracting COVID-19. When they have high levels of glycemic variability, which is indicative of insulin resistance, they fare much worse Dr. Mercola Interviews the Experts This article is part of a weekly series in which Dr. Mercola intervie...
