Fearmongering Has Done More Damage Than the Virus

STORY AT-A-GLANCE John Tierney, a contributing science columnist for The New York Times, looks back over the pandemic, providing a timeline of the media-induced viral panic that led to censorship and suppression of scientific research on an unprecedented scale Experts who spoke out against the official narrative were attacked and accused of endangering lives by questioning lockdowns Numerous research journals refused to publish the results of studies that featured data questioning lockdowns, masks and other COVID policies Certain states have stood out for their refusal to buy into the draconian public health measures that were adopted throughout much of the U.S.; Florida is chief among them and has a COVID mortality rate that’s lower than the national average The “crisis crisis,” or the ‘incessant state of alarm fomented by journalists and politicians,’ is one reason why so many government, academic and policy leaders could support rampant censorship and suppress scientific debat...

Control What You Can

Hello Natural Health Family. First off I wanted to apologize for my absence this week. I intended to be back to start the week Monday. However, Mother Nature had other plans. I have not been able to get back to Quincy due to winter storms and flight cancelations. After going back and forth of what to do and finally getting a flight booked I realized (or remembered) a lesson that I wanted to share with you as it may be a good time for you too. We tend to want to control many things in life but sometimes life doesn’t work that way. This weekend I went snowboarding. I have never snowboarded in my life but have heard it is a lot of fun. I also wanted to do something new that would push me past my comfort zone. Let me tell you that the South Park Quincy hills are a little smaller than the Colorado Mountains. Every time going down the mountain is a mixed feeling of fear and fun. It seemed when I let go and trusted myself to be able to go down the steep mountain that I had more fun (a...

Love Heals

Hey my Loves. Ever since we were kids, we have been using this emotion. Love for others. Love for our food. Love for ourselves. Love for life. I think it would be safe to say that everyone's strives to have a life that they can fully love. A life that they can relax, they can play, and they can feel abundant. As it relates to your health, love is the most powerful healer and can heal any type of illness that is in the body and mind. Many think that love is the red heart shaped box of chocolates with a teddy bear, but it goes much deeper than that.  I have had the privilege to understand the true power of love in my own health and life. The research available is remarkable and once it is applied to one’s life, it can positively transform any area of your life. Why? Have you ever looked at a kid playing? Have you seen how present he/she is in the moment? Just in complete awe with everything in front of them. What changed us being a kid to us all grown up? The development of t...

Psychiatrist Blows the Whistle on Pandemic Fearmongering

Analysis by  Dr. Joseph Mercola STORY AT-A-GLANCE There’s an entire school of research within public health on how to frighten people, known as “fear appeal” Fear appeal is based on the premise that to successfully implement a public health measure, you must first highlight a threat. And, to work, the threat must be made personal, so that people fear for their personal safety Next, you give people something immediate to do that will set them on the path of cooperating with the plan in its entirety. Examples during the COVID-19 pandemic include not leaving your house, wearing a mask, staying 6 feet apart, closing certain businesses and keeping children home from school. In the future, we can expect to be told we must get vaccinated and digitally tracked before we can resume life as normal By adding confusion to the mix, you can bring an individual from fear to anxiety — a state of confusion in which you can no longer think logically. In this state, you are more easily manipul...

What About Salt?

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             I hope that you’re enjoying the heat, we had plenty of it this weekend. This ties into our health shop topic for Monday evening on the Importance of Sea Salt. I have a lot of fun with patients when I talk to them about salt because they invariably argue with me that they’ve been told for decades not to eat salt because of blood pressure issues. Well the truth is that this may be somewhat true for processed and refined white salt but we need mineral salt or sea salt for good health, good kidney functions, and the ability to sweat and control our body temperature. Good quality sea salt or mineral salt also helps with your body’s pH and this keeps the bugs under control as well. Unfortunately, the medics make no distinction between processed salt and sea salt and do not look at the positive effects, only the negative and fearful aspects. At Natural Health, we try to give our patien...

Fear and Fatih

Hello Natural Health Family! With our independence day coming I wanted to talk about a topic that seems to be relevant in these times. The topic is the understanding of fear and how faith can counter fear to overcome difficult times for many people.      Many people experience fear in many ways such as thinking about what to say to another person, how to keep everything well financially, how relationships are going, failing to do something, and others. There are many things that people fear nowadays ranging from small insecurities to what may seem like devastating issues. However, if we think about all our ancestors went through to make this nation a free nation then we can see what tremendous things they had to go against to accomplish this heroic task. Our ancestors possessed an attribute that I believe helped balance out the fear they must have felt, the attribute being faith.      When we have faith, we are able to overcome the fear t...

Thoughts and Emotions

Hello Natural Health Family! I hope you had a nice weekend and enjoyed the sunshine. As the days go on we are still hearing and seeing news about the coronavirus. Today I wanted to talk about how the emotion of fear and not the coronavirus itself may be harming you.  In terms of health, we forget how powerful our thoughts and emotions can be. As a society we have been told to disregard our feelings and not to express how we feel. Many people find it awkward to express how they feel because it feels uncomfortable to most people. However, when we don’t express how we feel we tend to hold in that emotion in our bodies where it can sit for years. This can cause a lot of stress in our bodies. When we hold in any negative emotions, our bodies stay in a constant fight or flight response. Our fight or flight system is an aid to overcome any immediate threat in our lives. It was useful to help us survive a certain situation. However, as humans we tend to keep thinking of that past becau...
