Listening

Hello everyone. We are off to another week and it looks to be a good one. Over the past weekend I talked to various people on different subject matters. I started to realize more and more about how my outlook on the discussion made a big difference. Let’s talk today about how communication is not merely about talking but about listening to what the other person is saying with a curious mindset. Many times an argument is brought about not because people don’t agree about the same thing but because they refuse to listen to the other party. When we don’t listen intently about what is being said then we may fail to acknowledge where the other person is coming from. When this happens we may start to criticize what is being said since we can’t see the bigger picture. Taking a step back, we open our mind to perhaps be aware that we may actually not have all the information yet to make an informed decision or conclusion. When we choose to listen more intently we also are able to accept t

We Are Back!

Hello Everybody in Natural Health Nation -      Well I'm glad to see that everything is still green in the area. Karen and I visited my son in California and they are very dry out there and everything is brown. It was so great to come home to actual Green Grass and the trees looking so nice. It seems like there's either too much rain or too little but I'm glad that we're kind of right in the middle there somewhere. California is a very different area and I was surprised to see the number of people still wearing masks outside and  the number of homeless people roaming around. The roads were very busy and in the area that we were in and the migrant workers were doing a lot of harvesting and working hard at it. California is so diverse and the weather there changes from Valley to Valley. I'm glad to be home in simple old Quincy and enjoy a more Rural and slower-moving Society.       We're getting close to the end of July but still talking about breathing and hydr

Vitamin B12 Deficiency Symptoms

STORY AT-A-GLANCE There is a long list of symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency as the vitamin affects several bodily systems. They include tingling or numbness, balance or gait problems, memory loss, difficulty thinking, depression and heart palpitations Groups of people with a higher risk of deficiency include older adults and people with pernicious anemia, stomach or intestinal surgery, vegetarians and vegans, and regular coffee and alcohol drinkers It is easy to miss a vitamin B12 deficiency as the symptoms may mimic other conditions. Even people with serum levels within normal limits may have symptoms since you may not have enough vitamin B12 for tissue availability Deficiency may be an underestimated factor in cognitive impairment and dementia; early evaluation of treatment protocols also suggest a combination of vitamins D, B12 and magnesium may lower your risk of poor COVID-19 outcomes A significant portion of Americans have some type of vitamin deficiency, one of which is vitam

Vacation Time

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-      I hope you had a restful weekend. Karen and I are enjoying a little time off this week so will keep this short. With all the hubbub of the last year and the truths coming out, I feel it’s even more important to protect your own health and that of your loved ones by your own knowledge and not just trusting the white coat. The article that I’ve included talks about other strategies to help HBP without more and more drugs, which only help the symptom but make the cause worse. At Natural Health, we find the cause of the problem so the body can heal. It’s a much better and healthier paradigm than more and more drugs and then surgery for the damage.  Please click here to read article from Dr. Mark  Get Healthy, Stay Healthy, and Live Well  Dr. Mark

Lowers Blood Pressure More Efficiently Than a Prescription

Analysis by Dr. Joseph Mercola STORY AT-A-GLANCE High resistance Inspiratory Muscle Strength Training (IMST) reduced systolic blood pressure measurements in participants by nine points, with a 45% improvement in endothelial function, increase in nitric oxide and a reduction in markers of oxidative stress and inflammation Preliminary results also suggest it improves cognitive and physical functioning. Researchers were encouraged when 95% of the sessions were completed, far better than the less than 40% who meet the current aerobic exercise guidelines High blood pressure may lead to kidney disease, heart attack, stroke, vision loss, heart failure and sexual dysfunction. It also increases the risk of peripheral artery disease, vascular dementia and brain lesions and tangles associated with Alzheimer's disease Other strategies that may help lower your blood pressure include addressing identified factors that lead to increased blood pressure, such as elevated uric acid and insulin resi

Keep Learning

Natural Health Family! I hope everyone had a great weekend. The past weekend I got to play golf with some friends and it helped me see things in a different perspective. Golf is an interesting sport that requires us to stay present on the task at hand. It also showed me how easy it is to get frustrated at something that was meant to be enjoyed. Let’s talk about how golf can show us some simple lessons that can be carried over into our lives.  Just like any new sport or activity we must learn the basics before we can do well at it. Like a kid who learns to ride a bike, he or she first learns the steps one by one. Then when the child feels comfortable enough he or she doesn’t have to think about it and it feels more natural to just ride. We must learn the basics of a new activity first. However, for many this can be a frustrating process. Learning something new we are starting to fire and wire our brain in new ways. This can feel uncomfortable and unnatural because our brain is liter
