Fuel For Your Body

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-

I hope that you had a chance to really enjoy the beautiful weekend. The temperatures were great but the ground has really dried out. This is a great time to get things done outside though since there’s not a lot of mud and the like. Any kind of digging chores, though, are tough because of the dry hard ground. That kind of activity can be hard on backs and knees, etc. I hope we have a nice long fall so we can get all these chores done on our lists and then not feel guilty hibernating all winter-ha.

This month were talking about Back to School activities in our health shop. This week were talking about Learning Disabilities and should have some good information on how to help kids feel comfortable learning and helping it come easier to them. There are some very simple steps to take for this and we will talk about those in our health shop. As reminder, we do the health shop live Monday nights at 6:15 on Instagram and Facebook, and then eventually post them to Brighteon.com and YouTube.

The article that I’m sending along this week looks at the use of ketones in the body as a fuel source and how it really is the best kind. Most people cannot stay in ketosis all the time but it’s good for your body to develop what’s called metabolic flexibility. This means the body can burn all kinds of fuel and if the body can do that, it keeps us from having insulin resistance and heading towards diabetes. I don’t know how many times a week I’m talking to patients about how our society is so geared towards sugary junk. All of our holidays have to have cookies and cakes, our drinks have to be sugary and sweet, and many people want dessert of some sort after every meal. It’s no wonder that this country has such a problem with diabetes and heart disease. This kind of activity also reduces the strength of the immune system and that leads us to the cancer issues. The funny thing is that the body likes to burn sugar and likes the energy, the trouble is there’s no nutrition to help the body with this task in these sugary processed “foods”. The goal of metabolic flexibility is to get the body to be able to use other forms of foods for fuel that are more complete and able to help the body burn them without getting into stores of vitamins and minerals and depleting those. There are rules the body follows to live by and most people have no idea what they are. This can include many mainstream medical people. At Natural Health, we really work towards helping educate our patients as to how the body works and what it needs to be healthy. It really isn’t that hard but takes a little work and understanding.

Most People Don't Reach Micronutrient Requirements Through Food Alone

STORY AT-A-GLANCE Most adolescents are not getting adequate nutrient intake from diet alone — a finding confirmed from other studies in developed countries such as Spain, France, Portugal and Germany Three-quarters of adolescents consumed less than 54% of the recommended amounts of healthy foods like fruits, vegetables and dairy products Nearly three-quarters of the youth exceeded the recommended limit for sweet and salty snacks — by 453% When nutrient intake was considered from diet alone, adolescents often consumed less than recommended amounts of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D and E along with the water-soluble vitamins folate, biotin and pantothenic acid The use of dietary supplements helped to increase the adolescents’ intake of vitamins and minerals, particularly magnesium and vitamin C, but this isn’t a replacement for a healthy, nutrient-rich diet While it’s possible to get all the vitamins and minerals your body needs by eating a healthy diet, most people fall short. The issu

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Aren’t the trees beautiful? Fall is such a beautiful time of year and the weather has been outstanding. I hope you were able to get outside and increase your vitamin D stores for the winter. Remember that vitamin D is activated by sunlight so it’s important to get some. Vitamin D is also an oil soluble vitamin so you must be consuming good fats in order to have a good vitamin D source. If you get into the science of vitamin D, you’ll find it comes from cholesterol so the mainstream medicines war on cholesterol causes vitamin D levels to be low and this causes lots of immune system problems and other issues. We help our patients be able to digest and absorb fats and watch that their vitamin D levels are optimum.             The article I’m sending along this week looks at screenings and mammograms and how they can be harmful with the false positives they promote. It kind of reminds us of the virus tests people are getting now an

Getting Ready For Winter

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-                 I hope that you enjoyed the nice weekend and got a lot of things done outside. I heard some people talk about putting up their Christmas lights already and it was a good weekend for that, as well as raking the yard and all the usual fall chores. It’s gotten dry again and the dust is everywhere. The farmers are still hard at it with harvest and that’s adding more dust and pollen into the air. We doing a lot of work with sinus and allergy symptoms here at Natural Health. We do it the right way, though, by helping the body to detoxify itself from this dust and pollen and not suppressing the body’s immune system with medication. If you want to be healthy, it’s important to work with the body and not against the body.                 The article that I’m sending along looks at the European Union banning mercury amalgams for teeth. This should have been done years and years ago but the powers that want to make money are keeping it
