Seeing With A New Lens

Welcome back Natural Health Family. We had some technical issues last week so didn’t get the last post out. Sometimes life doesn’t always go the way we think it does. This may make us react in certain ways. However, let’s have a discussion about life events and explore this topic some more.  When is the last time something didn’t quite work out the way you thought it would? You may have actually planned an event but the weather was not so welcoming. Maybe you were on a vacation where things didn’t line up the way you thought. Or your day was going well until it wasn’t with whatever the circumstance may be. Life can throw some curveballs here and there. I think we all can relate that there are highs and lows in the course of a lifetime. Nonetheless, if we look back we can see that sometimes what we thought was something that didn’t go right actually led us to something better.  When we are able to see things differently the things we see change. Many times people get...

Preparing Your Health for Winter

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-                 I hope that you enjoyed your weekend. It was a nice fall weekend and we got some more rain. I celebrated my 65 th birthday and it’s hard to believe that those many years have went by. As old as I am, I get a kick out of people talking about a bad winter or a good winter or how the weather has gotten generally worse are generally better, hotter or colder. I’ve been around long enough to see all types of weather and weather patterns and it’s different every year. I’ve seen temperatures as high as 107 and three or 4 feet of snow during the winter. It’s all different and not a political agenda-ha.                 This month during our health shops, we are starting a new topic Getting Ready for Winter. This week we’ll talk about fall allergies and we have dealt with a lot of th...

Vitamin B12 to Help Combat Mental Illness

STORY AT-A-GLANCE Vitamin B12 plays an important role in neurological function, and deficiency leads to a number of related changes, including personality disturbances, irritability, depression, dementia and even psychosis People with depression and high B12 levels have better responses to treatment Vitamin B12 also helps regulate homocysteine levels, and increased homocysteine is linked to B12 deficiency as well as depression Vegans or strict vegetarians who abstain from animal products and do not supplement their diet with vitamin B12 will often become deficient and may face increased risks of neuropsychiatric and neurological problems as a result The only reliable and absorbable sources of vitamin B12 are animal products; however, even meat eaters can be deficient If you have a minor deficiency, increasing B12-rich foods, such as grass fed beef liver, wild rainbow trout and wild sockeye salmon, in your diet can help, but for more serious deficiency you may need weekly shots of...

Halloween and Sugar

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-                 I hope that you all enjoyed a nice weekend. We got a little more rain and that should help clear the air from all the dust and pollens being stirred up by harvest time. My brother had sent me a picture of him and his two sons harvesting soybeans and that the cloud of dust behind them looked like smoke from fire. It’s just the time of year and that’s what goes on but this nice rain will help clean the air from all that. We are using a lot of nutrition to help people with sinus problems and irritation and I’m starting to remind people about using humidifiers or getting humidity into the air somehow, especially in the bedroom at night.                 The health shop this week is on Health Secrets. Looking at the material, it’s not so much secrets as it is information that has been ...

Clostridium Difficile Loves Sugar and Resists Disinfectant

STORY AT-A-GLANCE The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 15,000 die every year from Clostridium difficile, a bacterium that may trigger watery diarrhea, fever, dehydration and kidney failure. It is evolving to a superbug, and has adapted to sugars commonly found in a Western diet. It also produces spores capable of resisting disinfectants Antibiotics are what has turned this minor player, accounting for up to 3% of bacteria in normal flora, to a major health concern; when antibiotics disrupt the normal flora, harmful bacteria such as C. diff are able to thrive and spread in the environment Although fecal transplants are new to Western medicine, they were reportedly being used as far back as 1,700 years ago. Colonoscopies have been the most successful means of using the treatment, but they come with risks; one study compared administration using capsules or colonoscopy and found a 96.2% prevention of recurrence in both groups Fecal transplants should only be ...

Generosity

Hello Natural Health Family. Grateful for everyone reading this today and all those who receive this message in some way. We have talked about different emotional states such as hope, worry, fear, anger, patience, etc. Today I wanted to offer up a discussion about selfishness and generosity.  I would care to admit that in some form or fashion that most if not all people are selfish in some way. This is not good or bad. Everyone has different tastes and unique abilities. It is what makes this world different so we can all experience life in interesting ways. We all have basic needs that should be met so in that way we need to be selfish to allow ourselves to live well. Similar to when airliners explain to put your own mask on then assist others. We also have various wants or desires. Again, these are not good or bad but experiences that if we aspire to have in our lives then we can enjoy them. Although we want to help ourselves, we can realize that if everyone was overly se...

Chiropractic

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-                 I hope that you enjoyed our last summer weekend, probably. We tried to get outside as much as possible to soak up the sunshine and warmth as we know that that will be coming to an end soon. Fall is such a great time of year but we all know what is coming afterwards. One of the big problems that we noticed is that it is so dry and there is lots of dust and fall flower and weed pollen in the air. We’ve been using a lot of our Standard Process products to help patients remove the sensitivities, or allergies, to all this dust and pollen. Let us know if we can help you because we want to get this under control before we have to deal with cold weather and all that stuff.                 In our Health Shop this week, we will be talking about Chiropractic Science. Last week we cou...
