Opportunistic

Hi Natural Health Family. I hope everyone stayed cool during the warm and humid weekend. There is of course much talk about the virus still and what to do about it. We have been told to do and not to do something many times and people seem to get confused. I wanted today to talk about a key word that is related to not only the Corona Virus but many other illnesses and infections around the world. The key word is opportunistic .  What does opportunistic mean? In relation to a bacteria, virus or other “bugs” out there it means that those bugs must have an opportunity to infect their host such as a person. How do they get the opportunity to infect a host? When a person’s body becomes weakened and the immune system loses the capacity to fight off the bugs or keep things in balance, then we start to have an infection. This goes for many infections and illnesses. When we hear about the virus we hear about all the things you can do to prevent getting the virus such as social distancing ...

What About Salt?

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             I hope that you’re enjoying the heat, we had plenty of it this weekend. This ties into our health shop topic for Monday evening on the Importance of Sea Salt. I have a lot of fun with patients when I talk to them about salt because they invariably argue with me that they’ve been told for decades not to eat salt because of blood pressure issues. Well the truth is that this may be somewhat true for processed and refined white salt but we need mineral salt or sea salt for good health, good kidney functions, and the ability to sweat and control our body temperature. Good quality sea salt or mineral salt also helps with your body’s pH and this keeps the bugs under control as well. Unfortunately, the medics make no distinction between processed salt and sea salt and do not look at the positive effects, only the negative and fearful aspects. At Natural Health, we try to give our patien...

Remdesivir Treatment Stopped Due to Side Effects

Remdesivir Treatment Stopped Due to Side Effects Analysis by  Dr. Joseph Mercola STORY AT-A-GLANCE In a case study from France on five patients using remdesivir, the doctors reported that four experienced major side effects, including kidney failure The NIH has brought together a panel of experts to make treatment recommendations, eight of whom have accepted research support or consulting fees from Gilead, the manufacturer of remdesivir Research data have not supported the use of remdesivir, which the company has priced at $3,100 for a course of treatment, a level they believe gives all patients access You can make a difference this fall when you use the recommendations in my new report to raise your vitamin D level to avoid COVID-19 The global pandemic has spurred several arms of science into action, with researchers seeking to discover how the virus works and to uncover the best testing, vaccinations and treatments. The biomedical community has been working on antiviral intervent...

Emotions and Health

Hello Natural Health Family. I wanted to talk more about how emotions can play a big role in our health. We tend to think about many illnesses and injuries due to physical or chemical issues. However, our bodies can be affected a great deal by our thoughts and emotions. Today we are going to talk specifically about the emotion of anger.  When most people think about anger they think about rage and outburst of hate. However, anger can be subtle and has many lesser forms like irritation and/or frustration. Many people hold in this emotion and can bring issues in the body. When we get angry or upset, our bodies undergo many physiological processes that stop our bodies own abilities to self heal and self regulate. This means that we can’t heal physical issues and can’t perform many of our unconscious processes like digestion, breathing, heart rate and others in an effective manner. Over time this leads to chronic illnesses which many people suffer around the world, the United Sta...

Why Are Seed Oils Bad?

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Another great weekend and hope you enjoyed the sunshine! Don’t forget to use coconut oil on the skin for those sunny days and sunburns. This oil is great for keeping the skin soft and warding off peeling. We seem to be catching enough rain so that everything is staying green and looks great. We’ve caught some nice breezes over the weekend and being outside wasn’t too bad, as long as you wasn’t working or in direct sunshine all the time. Enjoy the heat and don’t forget to stay hydrated and eating good sea salt or mineral salt.             One of our themes for July is Summer Fun and we will be talking about that on Monday evening during our health shop. It’s a strange summer without all the fairs and usual events that we go to and we’ll see how that affects our health in the long term. I think people will definitely m...

Are Seed Oils Behind the Majority of Diseases This Century?

STORY AT-A-GLANCE Ophthalmologist Dr. Chris Knobbe says most chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer's disease and macular degeneration are linked to the consumption of processed seed oils Knobbe says the large consumption of omega-6 seed oil in everyday Western diets is so dangerous it is "a global human experiment ... without informed consent" Polyunsaturated fatty acids, also called PUFAs, found in vegetable oils, edible oils, seed oils, trans fat and plant oils, owe their existence to "roller mill technology," which replaced stone mill technology and removed their nutrients Many people now consume 80 grams of PUFAs a day, which amounts to 720 calories and one-third of their caloric intake Results from studies of tribal peoples and animals have demonstrated the deleterious effects of PUFAs in the diet What do heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, str...

Importance of Fats

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-             Another great weekend, I hope you were able to enjoy it. I’m always amazed at how the world turns and the weather changes here in the Midwest. The days are starting to get a little shorter so enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures while we can. Don’t forget to eat good quality sea salt to help stay hydrated during the hot weather. Even being inside in air-conditioning dehydrates the body. Some of my patients have told me the MDs are telling them to get electrolytes, that’s what sea salt is simply stated. They have a hard time telling people to eat salt when they’ve been pooh-poohing it for decades. This is especially important if you have leg cramps or start feeling really tired after lots of exertion.             I’ve included a great article today that looks at the real science and truths of the need to eat satur...

Talking With Others

Hello Natural Health Family. I apologize for not getting the last post uploaded but hope this post will make up for it. I wanted today to illustrate the importance of how we talk to others and about ourselves. When we think of the new science of quantum, which is more based on energy and how it influences our lives, we should take into consideration our words and how they can be influencing our lives.  Recently and in the past I have heard more people talk as if they are victims of their lives. They say things like “with my luck” then end it with something bad happening. I don’t know how we ever got to the point of saying that but unfortunately many people do which creates a negative downward spiraling attitude to always have something to blame outside of us. Our words are a form of energy and people know that hateful words can be detrimental to men, women, and children. When we start to talk better about ourselves and others, we tend to see more good in the world. However, whe...

New Study Tells Why Chicken Is Killing You and Saturated Fat Is Your Friend

New Study Tells Why Chicken Is Killing You and Saturated Fat Is Your Friend Analysis by  Dr. Joseph Mercola STORY AT-A-GLANCE 60% of the U.S. population has chronic disease, nearly 70% are overweight or obese and 90% of Americans are metabolically unhealthy, which means virtually everyone is at risk for Type 2 diabetes and all the chronic diseases associated with insulin resistance Part of why chronic ill health is so widespread is this persistent idea that saturated animal fats are unhealthy, and should be replaced with industrial vegetable oils Long thought of as a healthier type of meat, primarily because it’s leaner than red meat, the problem with conventional chicken is that they’re fed corn, which makes them a source of harmful linoleic acid, a harmful type of fat Recent research admits the long-standing nutritional guideline to limit saturated fat has been incorrect, and foods high in saturated fat such as whole-fat dairy, red meat, eggs and dark chocolate are no...
